N.D. ag commissioner postpones Cuba trade mission
By: Associated Press,

BISMARCK — Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said a state
Agriculture Department trade mission to Cuba has been postponed.

The five-person delegation had tickets to Havana on Mexicana Airlines,
which went out of business Aug. 28. Goehring said alternate flights are
too expensive.

The trip was scheduled Sept. 22-25. Goehring said Wednesday it will be
rescheduled in late November, after the elections. The incumbent
Republican commissioner is running against Democrat Merle Boucher.

Goehring intended to emphasize sales of dry edible peas, dry beans and
distillers' grains for livestock feed during the trip and finish up a
potato export deal.

North Dakota's Agriculture Department has organized eight Cuba trade
missions in recent years.
