Washington, 9 September (WashingtonTV)—Cuba state media reported on
Tuesday that Havana has put into effect preferential tariffs on goods
imported from Iran.
The accord, which implements terms agreed to in a bilateral trade
agreement signed between Havana and Tehran in 2007, reduces tariffs on
88 different products, reports AFP.
Tariffs will be reduced by as much as 30 percent on items, including
textiles, industrial machinery and furniture.
According to official data, trade between the two countries grew from
22.9 million dollars in 2007 to 46.4 million dollars in 2008, reports AFP.
