MIAMI -- The economic forecast may not only be fueling concerns in the
U.S., but also in Cuba.
In his address to parliament over the weekend, Cuban dictator Raul
Castro announced he would trim the budget for state travel abroad by half.
Castro also said he wants to reduce paid government-sponsored holidays
used to reward employees, which would save the island $60 million.
Jan. 1, 2009 marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban revolution. Join
NBC 6 that night at 7: 30 p.m. for "Life Of A Dictator." The film takes
a look back at Fidel Castro's dictatorship and how it shaped 50 years of
Cuban politics and changed the South Florida landscape forever.
