Through its foreign minister, Brazil offered Raúl Castro advice and
cooperation in the creation of small and midsize enterprises, the
Chilean newspaper La Tercera reported, citing Brazilian diplomatic sources.
"The cooperation would take the form of training, in view of Brazil's
experience in supporting small and medium businesses (foto2) with
credits and setting up a tax regimen," the sources told La Tercera.
A message from Brazilian President Lula da Silva was delivered to Castro
by Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim during a two-hour meeting
Saturday in Havana.
Earlier in the day, Amorim met with Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas,
Foreign Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca, and Construction Minister
Fidel Figueroa to discuss the projects Brazil is currently carrying out
on the island, such as the renovation of the Port of Mariel.
