Cuba looking for web partner
Wednesday, 28 June 2006
The Cuban government wants to get on the world wide web big time and
it's looking for a private sector partner to help make it happen.
The objective is to use a web portal to facilitate the flow of
information to regional businesses and to increase trade through the use
of a virtual marketplace.
Cuban officials say consultants developed the first phase of the
multi-million dollar concept.
Trade Advisor to the Association of Caribbean States, Paola Vacca,
explains that a major challenge for the Cuban government is its
inability to finance the project.
Ms. Vacca says Caribbean companies need to garner a greater share of the
global trade market.
